Limited Mold Sampling
Limited mold sampling is used to detect the presence of
mold in "client defined" areas of the property. It
will include a visible inspection in the areas defined by
the client and samples will be taken as requested by the
client.
Determination of the type of microbial contamination
will not be made from the results of the visual assessment
alone: sampling is required along with a full inspection
of the property to determine the level of microbial contamination.
The results of limited mold sampling are not a guarantee
that mold does or does not exist in the subject property.
Mold
Screen Inspection
Mold Screen Inspection is done to identify "Red Flag" locations
for mold and to perform a limited sampling of those areas.
The minimum requirement for mold screening is three samples
plus a full visual inspection of the entire property.
When "Red Flags" are found in multiple areas,
the client is advised and offered the chance to have additional
samplings performed in any or all identified areas.. There
is also the option of completing a full Mold Survey. The
advantage of this level is that all "red flags" are
identified. It is limited, since complete sampling and further
field assessments area required to complete remediation
specifications.
Mold Survey Inspection
The purpose of a Mold Survey Inspection
is to detect the presence of a microbial problem in all readily
accessible areas of the property. Specific protocols are followed
and sufficient information is gathered for the purpose of
creating remediation specifications to be produced.
A Mold Survey Inspection
includes a complete survey of the entire building. A Mold
Survey inspection identifies, determines the cause, and provides
corrective measures for all mold sources found in the property.
A limitation is that it is non-intrusive, and hidden areas
of mold will possibly go undetected.
Clearance Testing
Clearance testing is designed to determine
the effectiveness of remediation efforts and to document
the absence of microbial problems before renovations begin.
The nature and extent of sampling is directed as part of
the remediation plan prescribed for the property. Clearance
testing is conducted within containment areas after remediation
has been completed. |
