With in a short time the product used dissipates and converts
to a non-toxic residue that can be easily rinsed with a cold
water.
Leading the Way in Fungal Control and
Sanitation
Why MDF-500?
Mold N’ More is the industry leader in fungal remediation
and disinfection. Using newly declassified technology developed
by Sandia National Laboratories to eliminate biological hazards,
MDF - 500 kills virtually 100% of problem mold, mold spores,
bacteria and viruses.
The contrast between MDF-500 and the typical biocide is
very important to note. MDF-500 is a 2 part non-toxic solution
that attacks the mold, bacteria and viruses. When standard
biocides are used on mold, the spores may rupture releasing
sub-microbial particles coated with toxic chemicals.
Even undiluted applications of disinfectants or stabilizers
that destroy the mold cell wall may not neutralize the chemical
toxins. These particles may be inhaled leading to adverse
health effects.
The MDF-500 solution process kills fungal materials and
it neutralizes the chemical by-products such as mVOC’s
and mycotoxins. The allergenic properties of mold and mold
spores are eliminated and toxic and odorous affects of mold
by-products are neutralized. The mycotoxins then become non-viable
and no longer considered a public health risk.
Will MDF-500 leave harmful residues?
One goal of the Sandia Laboratory research was to protect
the environment, humans, and animals. The MDF-500 Decon product
contains no toxic ingredients. Sandia National Laboratory
describes the product’s ingredients as “a cocktail
of ordinary substances found in common household products.” The
surfactants in the product are like those in hair conditioners.
The mild oxidizers in the product are like those in toothpaste.
As the product completes decontamination operations, no
toxic residues are left behind. The oxidizers in the product
itself decompose into oxygen and water. Any by-products of
the chemical changes that occur are nontoxic and non hazardous.
Of course, safety precautions should be followed while the
product is being applied, but after the exposure time is
completed MDF-500 is environmentally safe.
Brett: when sanitation meets wine style
Ah, Brettanomyces (aka "Brett"), the spoilage
organism that's also a flavor enhancer. Or perhaps the flavor
enhancer that's also a spoilage organism. Smoke and spice,
Band-Aids and saddle sweat, a little complexity or a lot
of infection. Judging from the number of conferences and
technical seminars devoted to this pesky fungus, it may be
the wine industry's favorite wedge issue. Since the permanent
eradication of Brett in most winery settings is well-nigh
impossible, the battle to control the bug goes on--and so
does the debate. Full story... |
